Prayer is one of the most important ministries at North Park Baptist Church. As such our Prayer Team is serious about prayer. This team prays for each prayer request that comes in to the church, prays for people in person after the service, prays on the phone with people at all hours, and prays on locations such as hospitals and homes. The team gathers together to learn more about how to pray effectively on Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 6:45. If you have a heart for prayer, contact Pastor Glenn about becoming part of the this exciting ministry.
We meet Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in Petersen Hall (enter through the outside doors just west of the main sanctuary entrance.) This is a freewheeling Bible study in which we engage issues and Bible passages raised in that week's Sunday sermon. Our conversations roam deep and wide, but the hallmarks are group humility before Scripture, the courage to ask tough questions, and a spirit of civility and humor in the face of disagreement. We want to know not just how to read the Bible, but how to live it. This is a particularly good place for someone new to the Bible to ask questions. We conclude by supporting each other in prayer. There are also some tasty treats to eat.
We are a Bible study for those who have walked miles of bad road but keep on marching in God's power. Some of our members have been homeless or struggled with substance abuse problems. We invite you to learn with us as we share each other's burdens and look for the light of God. We meet on the first and the third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m.
